Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Bouts Of Chocking With History Of Tonsillectomy?
Hi. I had a tonsillectomy in 2006. Everything went fine. For the last three or four years, I have been experiencing choking problems. I I choke on food, liquids or saliva. This is rather infrequent, but episodes are violent and seem to be increasing in frequency. Should I see my surgeon about this? Or is there nothing that can be done? Thank you.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the symptoms given here of choke on food, or difficulty in swallowing may not be due to tonsillectomy but it could be due to hyperacidity this might have caused the esophagitis and "Tab Omeprazole 40 mg Domperidone 30 mg" once in day can be tried, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
