What Causes Recurring Blisters On Coccyx?

Sometimes when I sit a certain way I get this hard spot of skin on my tail bone. After a couple of days it turns to a couple of little blisters. They break and then a few months later I get it again. I have told my doctor and have showed her and she gave me an anti fungal cream, which of course didn t work. Could you tell me what this is.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your problem.

After having gone through your query, I am of the opinion that you have Pilonidal sinus which is getting repeatedly infected due to some particular posture like prolonged sitting in a certain way.

A Pilonidal cyst is located near the tailbone at the top of the cleft of the buttocks. These cysts typically occur when hair punctures the skin and then becomes embedded & it has a tendency to recur.
You are advised to get examined by a surgeon for as it has to be surgically removed to prevent the recurrence.

Meanwhile keep the area clean, avoid prolonged sitting, lose body weight if needed, take sitz bath 2-3 times/day.

Hope to have answered your query.
A feedback is appreciated.
