General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Sorry to hear about your problem. Epilepsy is much time life long problem and may need drugs for life long.

We many times gives a trial of stopping the drug if a person is free of seizures for 2 years but if seizures occur repeatedly after stopping the drug then the drug should be continued for life long and should not be stopped.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
