What Causes Recurrent Rashes On The Thighs And Neck?

I have had a rash that reoccors every 90 days, but has started to occur every 30 days. The first time it appeared was 90 days after I had completed a 30 day Lyme treatment and occurred on my thigh. Before it went away it started a small spot on my neck. 90 days later it reappears in full force on my neck and before leaves starts anew on my chest. This has been its modus operandi-every 90 days, rash size of hand relocate to anew site before leaving and it is very itchy! The only time this has changed is when I was on an antibiotic for 2 mos. for a kidney infection. Since Dec 2016, it is reoccurring every 30 days- chest, upper abdominal, right shin@ankle & side of right breast. A pathologist s biopsy noted the inflammation, but could identify the pathogen. Any suggestion?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an allergic rash.

As a first line management, you can take antihistamines like Pheniramine and apply low potency steroid ointment like Betamethasone for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
