What Causes Recurrent Cold Along With Cough And Sore Throat?

I have had four colds since January. I am active and usually never get sick. Did not get a flu shot this year. But they are all different. Chest, head and now i have a sore throat and the sniffles. Coughing a bit! I recently joined a gym. I am thinking I picked this one up there. But...I am concerned about my immune system.c.

Hi.

Sore throat and sniffles can be due to throat infection caused due to bacteria or virus.

So my suggestion is to once get a throat swab culture and a blood test done for Mono to rule out what exactly it is.

For confirmation consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT expert and get evaluated..
He can do investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain.
-Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
