Dear Doctor. I am 28 weeks pregnant and have a serious back pain in the same area of my back past few weeks which makes sleeping and resting impossible in any position(with or without pillows etc) my best belive is this not a backbone pain but something inside...I have horsehoe kidney...may it be the one which become so painful due to the pregnancy extra weight of my bum etc.? Worried as is a serious pain and just cant handle it no more..thank you
If the pain continues then your doctor would need to see you to rule out other causes. This require physical examination mainly, not likely imaging with any radiation.
You can try paracetamol to see if it helps. This can be used in pregnancy.
I hope this helps

What Causes Recurrent Chronic Back Pain?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic The pain may also related to your pregnancy as you mentioned. Pregnancy, especially in the later stages, can cause back pain or can worsen existing back pain. Horseshoe kidney is not normally associated with pain. If the pain continues then your doctor would need to see you to rule out other causes. This require physical examination mainly, not likely imaging with any radiation. You can try paracetamol to see if it helps. This can be used in pregnancy. I hope this helps
