To prevent recurrent episodes of cellulitis skin should be kept clean and well-moisturized. Prevent cuts and scrapes by wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, using gloves when necessary, and trimming fingernails and toenails with care. Some people who frequently develop cellulitis may benefit from long-term antibiotic treatment to prevent recurrent infections.
Factors that increase risk of cellulitis include: Pre-existing skin diseases, insect or animal bites,Surgical incisions or pressure sores, diabetes that is not controlled. These have to be managed accordingly. if this cellulitis is in legs keeping the legs elevated till complete cure will be of benefit.diet also has to be proper and avoidance of smoking and alcohol, junk food are required to improve your immunity which will stop the recurrence.
