What Causes Recurrent Canker Sores On The Bottom Lip?

Hi! Lately I've been getting canker sores on my bottom lip & every time it will heal, a new one will form in a simillar spot. It's been three or four weeks since the first one and right now is my third canker sore in but I also have seemed to form another one on my gums by towards my back teeth, it's hard to get a look at it because my tongue covers it. What could this be? Why does my canker sores keep reappearing? Should I visit my doctor or my dentist?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Recurring Apthous Stomatitis causing Apthous Ulcers and can be due to causes like Deficiencies of iron and Vitamin B12, acid reflux, dry mouth, hormonal imbalances, side effects of medicines etc..

As of now you can start taking Vitamin B complex supplements for about a week..
You can start gargling with antiseptic mouthwash..
Do warm saline gargles..
Avoid sour and spicy food..
Use hypoallergenic toothpaste..
Drink plenty of water..

In case if still condition persists consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated who can look for other causes like Herpes that is a Viral infection..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
