A patient with a heart pacemaker received antibiotic therapy for streptococcal bacteremia (bacteria in the blood). One month later , he was treated for the recurrence of the bacteremia. When he returned 6 weeks later , again with bacteremia, the physician recommended replacing the pacemaker.. Why did this cure his condition

Recurrent bacteremia is caused by infections (like pneumonia or meningitis)
Bacteria can also spread via the blood to other parts of the body (which is called hematogenous spread), causing infections away from the original site of infection, such as endocarditis or osteomyelitis.
