What Causes Rectal Bleeding?

I sometimes have BRIGHT RED Blood in my colon. I have an appt scheduled with my doctor. I have recently started taking Iron Pills. Is it possible, the BRIGHT RED COLOR is caused by hard stools, and I should be taking a softener with the Iron pills?

* There are different reasons for the rectal bleeding as
- fissure - hemorrhoid - hard stool induced - inflammatory bowel
condition - others as tumors or else .

* Needs clinical evaluation with proctoscopy examination and if needed
colonoscopy .

* Till then must take high fiber diet , stool softner for loose motions .
