What Causes Rectal Bleeding During Bowel Movements?
Yes, my daughter has been bleeding from the rectum when she has a bowel movement. A large amount of blood that is bright red. She said that this has been going on foe several months, but not as bad as it is now. she stated that she feels bloated in her abdominal area. She is a single mother. What could be the cause of this bleeding?
Bleeding per rectum is the main complaint and it is bright red colour
Hence it suggest bleeding from lower GI tract (Because colour bright red)
Causes are as follow.... -proctitis -anal or rectal ulcer -piles -colitis -IBD etc....
Investigation needed as follow : -First proctoscopy examination to rule out ulcer, growth, inflammation in rectal area -stool examination and culture for rule out infection
If these two investigation can't rule out cause then colonoscopy needed
According to cause further specific treatment given
Hope I have solved your query
Take care
