What Causes Rattling Sound In The Ears?

Hi,
I've had a rattling / broken speaker sound problem in my for years. It started in my left ear and then my right ear got it even worse than the left one
. I hear it and feel it when I'm talking, or listening to talking or music, in person or on tv or radio at any volume except soft. Loud sounds are completely intolerable. What makes this particularly unfortunate for me is that I love music and play the piano (much less often now due to this problem) and write songs on the side. This problem has been extremely frustrating for me!!! I have been to several ENTs and audiologists and none of them had even heard of this problem. Do you know what this is, and whether anything can be done about it? Will it keep getting worse?
Thanks,
Anthony

Hi welcome to HCM
I can understand your concern for your rattling sound in the ear.

There are many causes for rattling in your ear - the noise only you can hear. Some causes are not serious (a small plug of wax in the ear canal might cause temporary tinnitus).
Tinnitus can also be a symptom of stiffening of the middle ear bones and may also be caused by allergy, high or low blood pressure (blood circulation problems), a tumor, diabetes, thyroid problems, injury to the head or neck, and a variety of other causes including medications such as anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, sedatives, antidepressants, and aspirin.

It could be the muscles in or around your ear. There are complex systems of nerves and muscles in and near the ear.
If any of these are under tension then this will cause an imbalance and hence causing a lot of stress on the muscles.

Treatment will be quite different in each case of tinnitus. It is important to see an otolaryngologist to investigate the cause of your tinnitus so that the best treatment can be determined.
To reduce stress with meditation/yoga pranayam - deep breathing
,and KARAN SHAKTI VIKAASAK ASPECIAL EXERCISE TO STRENGTHEN the nerves & muscles of ears- eyes - nose- throat - head which helps have long lasting relief.

It should be practised under guidance of trained yoga teacher .

Hope this helps solve your query
Take care . All the best
