have a rash on my inner thigh just on one side. i have had this rash for a few years and can t seem to shake it. i also get a small rash under my armpits. how should i go about treating it. i work a job where i sit most of the day and i wear jeans all the time for work. it doesn t hurt or itch. any ideas. thanks
The rash may be intertrigo. This refers to inflammation that occurs of the body folds which include the armpits, under the breasts in females and the groin area.
Fungal or bacterial infection can also occur along with this inflammation.
Treatment of intertrigo: (1) keeping folds separated if possible using linen or cotton material
(2)cool clothing, no tight clothes
(3)using barrier protection such as zinc or petrolatum based creams
(4)using a mild topical steroid to decrease inflammation eg hydrocortisone
(5)a topical anti fungal cream , topical antibiotics
Triple paste and greer goo contain a combination of products
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
