What Causes Rashes On The Feet And Ankles And Sore Soles?

i am 51 , i periodically get red burning rash like skin on my feet and ankles, very hot to the touch, and the skin on the bottom of my feet gets hard and flakey. also very sore foot bottoms , painfull to stand or walk on, without a cushion . this all stays below my sock line, and has occurred in summer and winter weather. this usually last 2 to 8 weeks. i do have poor circulation and some varicose veins. i wear embolism knee high socks. i take lisiniprol for high blood press. is this a form of eczema ? i do have extreme arthritis in my spine D.I.S.H. and have some nerve damage in my neck. dont know if this could be related ? i know forms of arthritis can cause skin rashes.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a fungal infection. I recommend using antifungal cream for local application. I also recommend using antifungal medication such as Fluconazole one tablet a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
