Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Cefdinir is an antibiotic prescribed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including:
• Pneumonia
• Sinusitis
• Bronchitis
• Strep throat
• Certain skin infections
The commonest side effects of this drug are:
• Nausea
• Stomach pain,
indigestion,
vomiting, mild diarrhea
• Headache, dizziness
•
Diaper rash in an infant taking liquid Cefdinir
• Mild itching or skin rash
Because it's quite bothersome, better stop this medication and consult your doctor for appropriate antibiotic.
Cefdinir is not appreciably metabolized. Activity is primarily due to parent drug. Cefdinir is eliminated principally via renal excretion with a mean plasma elimination half-life (t½) of 1.7 (± 0.6) hours.
For temporarily, you can take
Cetirizine to stop the rash.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nurul Falah
