What Causes Rashes Along With Tiny Lumps On Lips?

I randomly woke up on a Sunday and felt a light rash on my lips and they were very dry so I applied Chapstick and after a day or so I didn t see a difference. I then began to apply a cream for rashes/irritated skin and it s is not days later and I still see no change. My lips have become quite dark and I don t do any drugs. There s also little tiny pumps on my lips. Could you please tell me what this might be??

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain there can be a few reasons for the bumps and rashes on your lips..

One can be COLD SORES caused by Herpes Virus and is characterized by small bumps on lips. It happens due to direct contact with an infected person.

Other reason can be bacterial infection caused by using an old or infected chapstick, lipstick or any other lip products.

At times on using any new lip cosmetic can lead to allergic reaction.
It can also be due to allergy to any food product or any irritant present in air..

If you are highly exposed to sun the harmful ultraviolet radiation can cause irritation and inflammation of minor salivary glands leading to swelling of these glands and their ducts.

These can be a few common reasons but exact reason can be ruled out by consulting a DERMATOLOGIST who can do a clinical evaluation and give a final diagnosis.

In case of herpes infection the blisters or bumps persist for two to three weeks and then rupture and heals themselves..
For ease from pain and discomfort Ibuprofen can be taken..
Topical antiviral cream like acyclovir and oral intake of antiviral dugs can be helpful..

In case of bacterial infection anti bacterial gels and creams can be relieving..
Avoid sharing any of your lip gels or lipsticks with anyone else..

For allergies steroids can be taken..

Use natural lip lubricants for preventing dryness..

Keep yourself well hydrated by drinking plenty of water..

Always use sunscreen lotions while going out in sun..

But consultation with a doctor is must to take the treatment as per the cause..

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
