What Causes Rapid Weight Loss Along With Coughing And Vomiting?

My wife, 51 years, is experiencing rapid wight loss (25 lbs in 5 weeks), chronically tired, cough that leads to vomiting, shaking hands and legs, feeling hot and sweaty one minute then cold the next. Her sleep is not normal. Her breathing is shallow ... afraid to take a deeper breath for fear of coughing).

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

All this indicates the need for the following:
Consult a Physician for clinical evaluation, detailed examination so that an appropriate investigations can be done:
X-ray of chest.
Ultrasonography of abdomen and neck for thyroid.
Tests of blood: CBC, ESR, tests for thyroid and other organ functions, specific tests as per the clinical findings.
All these will lead to a proper diagnosis.
A proper diagnosis alone can allow specific management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
