What Causes Purple Lines On Roof Of Mouth When Suffering From Swollen Tonsils?

ive had swollen tonsils with holes in them that collect white stuff and above them tonsil stones occasionaly red veins like pattern on my throat and my uvula and a few purple and red lines in the roof my mouth and my mouth in general for the past 4 months, it does not hurt to swallow and doesnt bother me at all doctor said its not strep throat and 10 days of antibiotics didnt make it go away. whats wrong with me?

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain if you have holes over tonsils that accumulates dirt and causes formation of tonsil stones the there must be recurring inflammation of throat and tonsils and it leads to red and purple veins over the roof of mouth while can also be due to dilated or tortuous veins that leads to prominent appearance over the tonsils..

At times eating and drinking something very hot can cause the similar appearance..

I would therefore suggest you to start doing gargles with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water..
Do warm saline gargles..
Avoid very hot and spicy foods..
Drink plenty of water..

In case if the symptoms still does not improve consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and a throat swab culture can be done to rule out for infections..
In case if tonsil stones are the cause and they keep recurring, Tonsillectomy or surgical removal of tonsils can be advised..
