What Causes Purple Bruise Below The Knee Despite Taking Advil?
I fell and hit the area beneath my knee very hard. Next day it started swelling and bruising. I am on warfarin and metropolol had surgery a year ago for torn mitrovalve. It has been 4. Days my leg does not hours when I walk. I iced it for 2 days. The bruising had spread down my leg and is swollen but not hurting just a little swore. Have taken some Advil I m resting it tonight it seems to be improving except for the purplness. Any advice traveling on vacation in Ireland
Most likely it is only a contusion in your knee so icing and painkillers will help. Any bleeding which has occurred at the time of injury is likely to spread on dependent areas so do not worry about the spread of bruising. It will take a few months for bruising to go down. If pain and instability occur in the knee and then go for MRI.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
