What Causes Prominent Red Line On Neck Extending Towards Chest While On Antibiotics?

Hi, I am on antibiotics due to an infection to a tooth and infection or abscess in cheek an extreme swelling, I am two days into the antibiotics and swelling is half the size now an less painful but I know have a thick red line down my neck ending at the top of my breast bone, should I be concerned with this ?thanks in advance Janine

Thanks for the query.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the red line extending from the side of neck to breast seems to be due to allergic reaction to the antibiotic that is given to you for tooth infection..

I would suggest you to consult your treating dentist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and in case if it is due to allergic reaction he can change the antibiotic..
He can also advise you to take anti-allergic medications like Benadryl or Levocetrizine for reducing the allergy symptoms..
He can also advise you application of steroid based cream over the rash..
Doing cool compresses can also help..
