What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding After D And C?

Hi,
I got my last period on 24th Nov 2013.
31st December I got to know that I am pregnant .
I got dnc (cleaning through operation) on 11th Jan .
But I am still bleeding since then.
My doc is saying ..it's some infection.
She is now asking me to take mifegest course.
Please help!

Hello dear
Understand your concern
Prolonged vaginal bleeding after D & C is due to retain product plus infections.
But USG should be done for retain product and swab test should be done for infection.
Retain product can be treated by drugs like misoprostol and infections require antibiotic course.
Advice: rest, analgesic, maintain pelvic hygiene, wear pure cotton loose inner wear, healthy diet with iron and vitamin supplements
