What Causes Prolonged Menstruation After Taking Plan B?

I m on birth control for PCOS, which is now regulated and I have a normal period. Two weeks ago, I took a Plan B (during my placebo week of BC). And I finally started my period the day I started back on my regular BC. So it s now been about 2 weeks of bleeding (which randomly phases from light to barely there throughout the day). Is that normal?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Emergency contraception can cause a change in the frequency and intensity of the period.

It can cause abnormal bleeding to occur so this is the likely cause of the prolonged bleeding that you are experiencing.

There are hormonal medications that your doctor can give you to help halt the bleeding if it is very disruptive to you.

I hope this helps
