What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi, female 29 years of age having a menstrual period for about 10 days now somehow a heavy one. This is the 1st time that I encountered this kind of situation. But I gained a lot. From 60-65-70kg. I just had dicynone 250mg/2ml I.M. Injection. I am worried. Is it just okay to take some and what would be the possible cases why I had this prolong menstrual period. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

1. It is quite common to have such episodes of heavy bleeding at this age.
2. The reason could be various which needs to be evaluated.
3. First of all you need to get transvaginal ultrasound scan done to check if there is fibroid or endometrial thickness is abnormally high which needs to be treated.
4. The above 2 are common reasons that cause bleeding.
5. Therefore I request you to get an ultrasound scan done and see a gynecologist who will give you medicines based on scan report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
