What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding While On Trinessa?

I have been on trinessa since the end of febuary, and since then I have been on my period for 11 days now. It does not seem to be stopping. If anything it seems to be getting heavier. I am going through 1 tampon every 2-3 hours. I have an appointment with my doctor on the 27, but this makes me nervous. The doctor assistant says it can be due to the fact that I was on Tri-lo spentec, and just switched to Trinessa. Please give me advice. I am 37 and cannot chance abusing my uterus since I have yet to have children.
Thank you,
shakira

Hi, I think it can be because of that, because the dose of hormones in tri lo sprintec varies with days while in trinessa the dose is constant. You can take some medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. It can take few months to adjust with the new pill. Hope I have answered your question.
