What Causes Prolonged Heavy Periods And Blood Clots?

Hello, I am a 20 year old girl and I am going into my fourth week of my period. The bleeding has not been very heavy but at certain times during the day, I will have a small blood clot. Some people keep telling me it s normal and could be do to my low iron count or hormonal changes. Should I be worried?

Welcome to HCM
I have read and understood your concern
Is this ist period of this prolong bleeding?.
I would not say that you have nothing to worry about.Bcz this much bleeding is not normal. This is not due to iron deficiency but prolonged periods can lead you towards decrease HB and iron deficiency.Clots represent the bleeding is not less.
I would suggest you to meet your gynecologist asap. She will run some tests and do a scan. She can prescribe you hormonal combinations for regularity of your cycle.
I hope this helped
