What Causes Profuse Sweating During Menopause?

Hi, I have this combination of symptoms and am wondering if I should see my doctor: - sudden profuse sweating while shopping earlier today with slight trembling (I m a woman in menopause so thought it might be a hot flash, but I was dripping sweat off my face) - bright red soles of my feet tonight - diarrhea for the past few days Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to menopause. I recommend

-Wear breathable clothing.

-Avoid alcohol, coffee, and spicy foods. All of these things heat your body up, especially near the skin.

-Alcohol and coffee both cause blood vessels to dilate and contract, a major part of hot flashes.

-Keep your bedroom cool so that you don't overheat while you sleep.

-Exercise regularly

-Stop or reduce your smoking.

-Use herbal remedies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physicia
