What Causes Pressure In The Head After Taking Lisinopril?

Hello - I just started taking lisinopril, 5mgs, 3 weeks ago. I m wondering if I m having side effects, even though it is a low dosage. Since I ve started taking this medication, I feel pressure in my head and ringing in my ears. I m concerned about physical activity and have avoided it since I started taking it. I just feel off . What are your thoughts? Thank you, Shelli

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.

What you are experiencing recently is not due to Lisinopril but from high blood pressure. Monitor your BP and record the results for future reference.

If it is persisting high should consult with your doctor as might need to add another antihypertensive drug.

Limit salt and caffeinated drinks intake. Try to avoid stress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
