What Causes Pressure And Discomfort Under Rib Cage Post Child Delivery?

27 years ago I gave birth to my son. A day aft e r I had a dragging pressure at the top of my abdomen, I just thought it was after giving birth so never mentioned it. After a gall bladder operation my consultant said there was evidence of an hiatus hernia but it didn t bother me I was taking lanzaroprozole anyway. However if I lay flat and stretch I can feel a protrusion and now feel pressure and discomfort just under and between my ribcage ? Is this a hernia

Hi

A hiatus hernia can present like most common gastric conditions like gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, etc. Which is why your symptoms are similar and so I will have to agree that your symptoms can be associated with a hiatus hernia. If a CT abdomen or ultrasound was performed and the hiatus was confirmed, then there is no doubting it.

Best wishes
