What Causes Positive Test Result For Lactoferrin In A Colon Cancer Survivor?

my husband has had colon cancer in 2013 Started to bleed along with black stools. now he has loose stools. He has an colposcopy scheduled end of month. His test is positive for Lactoferrin Can this mean he has colon cancer again or should we just wait for the test

Lactoferin is positive in various colon diosrders and indicate some kind of inflammation in colon, it can be caused by IBS, colitis, parasitic infections and by tumors. However, it is not specific for tumors and he should check his CEA levels.
