What Causes Popping In Ears Followed By Popping After Blowing Nose?

I am on antibiotics(amoxicillin) because I was sick last week. I can finally breathe through my nose. I had a sinus infection and now I am coughing as the congestion is moving through my lungs. I am starting to feel better. Today, I blew my nose and a sound in my ear crackled and popped and now I have an earache. Please advise.

Hi there, the sinuses are communicated to the throat, ears and nose. What surely happened is that as you blew your nose which was highly congested, pressure increased in the middle ear and your timpanic membrane may have suffered a small lesion. Which should resolve on the incoming days. I suggest keep taking the antibiotics, and some painkillers as ibuprofen 600mg bid for the earache. Please any further concern don't doubt writing to us. Hope you get better.
