What Causes Pinching Sensation On Upper Lip?

My upper lip "cramps" every 15 minutes and has for months. It is directly in the center of my upper lip. It is like someone is pinching my upper lip and then let's go. It started months ago. Let up for a week or so and now is back even more frequently. What could it be?

There are several causes of numbness of the lips, ranging from mild to severe. Also, the condition may be acute or chronic, depending on the cause and underlying condition.
Numbness may be due to exposure to cold temperature, an allergic reaction, or due to certain drugs and medications. It could also be a sign of neuropathy, wherein the nerves fail to carry signals between the lip and the brain.
