What Causes Persistent Vomiting And Diziness?

My 20 yr. old grandson vomits constantly - does not usually have nausea. He doesn t keep anything down. It has been ongoing for 8-10 weeks or more. He has lost 21 lbs. Sometimes gets dizzy. He currently takes Risperdone but was told this was not the cause. He got off Risperdone for a couple of weeks to see if things changed - they did not. He occasionally smokes marijuana but has been doing so for a couple of years without affect. He has had an endoscopy, x-rays, blood work, ekg, and nothing is showing up. What is our next option? He does not have a normal lifestyle and wants to get a job and go back to school.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your 20 years old grandson having constant vomit, lost 21 lbs for the last 8-10 weeks. The Endoscopy, X-rays and EKG are normal.Take Resperidone and stopped to see the results, no effect.
I would advise him the following:
Take an opinion of a Neurologist as this can have a central cause and get an MRI of the brain done to rule out any pathology.
Also needed is to watch for the diet and to stop the foods and beverages that cause this problem.
Removing him from the routine and sending to a distant place can have positive results.
Psychoanalysis and treatment as per the findings can help.
Since Endoscopy has already been done, there may not be any findings that can be contributed to the cause of vomiting.
See what the Gastroenterologist has to say and follow his advise.
