What Causes Persistent Swelling In Lymph Node Of Neck?

Hi I have a 3 week history of a swollen lymph node on the right in my neck. Sometimes I have ear pain and head pain, all on the right. I was having a sore throat every afternoon for a while which has now disappeared. I lost my voice 4 weeks ago for a good week, had a cough with this too which has all now disappeared. I m just left with this lymph node and what I feel may be another one. Why?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It can take 4 to 6 weeks for a lymph node to resolve after an infection has improved so it may still improves over the coming weeks unless you have another infection (cough and cold or other infection in the area).

If it is painful then the use of oral anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam, may help.

I hope this helps
