Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of persistent redness and swelling on the tonsils despite taking antibiotics which seems to be due to inflammation in tonsils known as tonsillitis seems to be due to bacterial or viral Infection. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest to:-

- Maintain proper oral hygiene.
- Avoid oily and fried food.
- Take steam inhalation to have immediate relief.
- Avoid cold carbonated beverages.
- Do warm saline rinses several times a day.
- Take advil for pain and swelling and the combination of antibiotic Amoxicillin for 3-5 days along with antiinflammatory medication.

You should visit an ENT specialist once and go for thorough examination and go for blood test and throat swab test as well and start treatment accordingly. If symptoms keep on persisting go for removal of tonsils( tonsillectomy) after proper consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
