I have been having pains in my lower stomach whenever I lay on my side for too long and sometimes it wakes me up at night. I haven t talked to my doctor about it because I always forget about it whenever I go talk to him about it. Any ideas as to what this could be?

General & Family Physician, Dr. D Y NAIDU's Response
Thanks to HCM I can understand your concern pain in lower abdomen has number of causes like indigestion ,colitis nothing but infection in intestines, gastritis also ,constipation ,irregular diet habits
I would to know weather your bowel habits are regular or not .. ok .anyway plz take plenty of water ,liquids for sufficient intestines function .. avoid hard spicy foods
if not relieved take antispasmodics like buscozest and metrogyl 400mg for 3 days
but better have a ultrasonography if pain is not relieved ,ok don't worry it will subside
