What Causes Persistent Numbness In The Limbs?

I had a stroke of unknown origin 4 years ago. I currently have numbness in my left leg and left hand. I have had a lot of neurological testing done, but no answers yet. I still have not had the spinal tap done to rule out MS. Should I worry about the numbness today?

Hi,

Numbness in left upper and lower limb may be due to lacunar stroke or subacute combined degeneration of spinal cord or compressive myelopathy or mono neuropathy or plexopathy or diabetes or hypothyroidism or etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Get it done MRI spine, nerve conduction studies. If already done please post me report. Use Vitamin B12 and folic acid tablet with Vitamin B12 injections. Please consult your neurophysician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
