What Causes Persistent Middle Back Pain With Bowel Problems?
Pain in my upper back under ribs. Pain began months ago as about a one inch wide band right near lower left old hernia area going completely around my body in a circle. This pain moved up every week until a few weeks ago when it stopped under my rib cage and has stayed there. Bowel problems have accompanied this issue the whole time. Pain is much worse when I m in bed in the night and trying to turn over. Urinating in the night relieves the pain some.

What Causes Persistent Middle Back Pain With Bowel Problems?
Hello, It could be a spine-related problem like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression. As first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. You might require an MRI scan for further assessment Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
