What Causes Persistent Low Iron Levels In Blood Despite Taking Medication?

I have had anemia for over two years take an iron pill every day. Bloodtest in July was very low and had two go have two bags of blood. Hospital doctor believes I have a microbleed somewhere and is recommending a gastro----. Can you advise me as to what type of tests might be run. Also don t have any blood showing anywhere.

Hello,

I think you may need to do a feces occult blood test to check if your gastrointestinal tract is bleeding.
Also, you may need to do a fybroscopy to check for possible anatomical issues like tumours or ulcera which can cause bleeding too.
