What Causes Persistent High Temperature In A Child Despite Antibiotics?
Dear Sir, I have a kid 5 yrs of age having 14.5 kg of weight. He is suffering from continuous fever for last 6 days. Paracetamol and amoxycillin trihydrate with potassium clavulanate (3.5ml bd). Blood report is having the malaria and dengue negative with 13200 wbc counts. I want to ask whether it is usual to have fever since 6 days? Pls advice.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child persistent high temperature in a child despite antibiotics which is due to viral infection which is lowering down your immunity and making you prone for infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get blood investigation done to check level of infection. You should apply wet cold sheets on your head to lower down body temperature.You should take combination of antiviral drug along with anti-inflammatory drug. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. Avoid hot, spicy and sharp food substances. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will booster immunity. Take nimuslide along with paracetamol as well.Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C.
