What Causes Persistent Heavy Vaginal Bleeding?

Hi Doctor , My period lasted for 7 days it stopped I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend than a few hours later I start spotting lightly and now I m bleeding alittle heavy and it s been 8 days now and I m having a little cramping I don t know what s happening to me

1. heavy menstrual flow requires step wise approach,

i.P.V. Examination and USG to rule out abnormalities of uterus and pregnancy
ii. Hemoglobin, WBC, Bleeding disorder profile, Serum Thyroid profile.
iii. In my Clinical practice I usually follow the principle of:
. When a woman in reproductive age group [20-40] presents with excessive bleeding, first rule out abortion and in an elderly woman, first rule out malignancy.
iv. take Hemostatic Drug [ethamsylate] and consult a Gynecologist.
