What Causes Persistent Headache With History Of Having Hypertension?

I am 44 and have a history of hypertension. Having said that I ve been having headache since 4-5 days in the area around the left eye brow. While it has come down since I have been a syrup since 2 days it is not completely cured. Can I assume it s Sinus? Or something associated with hypertension?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Hypertension can cause persistent headache.
Headache is more common in malignant hypertension.
Sinusitis can also cause headache but hypertension has to be ruled out in first place.
Thus, I suggest you to consult your treating physician for assessment of hypertension.
If blood pressure is high, the treatment may have to modified.
If blood pressure is controlled, then other causes of headache may have to be looked for.
Other causes of headache include sinusitis, migraine, cluster headache, refractive errors, high CSF pressure etc.
Thus, consult your physician for further work up.

Thanks and take care
