What Causes Persistent Diarrhea Despite Taking Amoxicillin And Antihistamine?

Hi, I had cold,cough and fever for 2 days now. Also had watery loose motion for 2 days. I took ibuprofen 800 mg and amoxicillin 500 mg, antihistamine for 2 days. Fever, cough and cold got reduced now but I still have loose motion. What should I take for loose motion? Thanks

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain persistent diarrhea after taking medication seems most probably be due to side effect of the antibiotic amoxicillin that you took as they disrupt the good bacteria present in intestine along with harmful bacterial leading to disturbance in the complex functioning of the intestine leading to diarrhea.
The symptoms are transient and will resolve gradually as the antibiotic intake will be stopped..
As of now you can be advised to take Loperamide to reduce loose motions..
You can take fluid replacement therapy and drink plenty of oral rehydration fluids..
You should take more of yoghurt,rice, cereals, banana etc..
Do not keep hungry and eat every after 2 hours..
