What Causes Persistent Cough Post Cardio Bypass Surgery?

After four weeks of recovery from cardio bypass surgery (6), I developed a persistent cough. It prevents me from taking a full deep breadth in, causes chest discomfort (diaphragm region), and prevents a good night s sleep. Doctor says my lungs are clear, but cough persists. Any suggestions?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, first thing you have to do is check the drugs if this is the ACE inhibitor going on then it may be the cause and if not then it could be due to hyperacidity and it can be given try with Tab Omeprazole 40 mg once in day, some time it could be allergic condition, over all differentiation is necessary but no need to worry about this hope this information helps.
