What Causes Persistent Cough In A Child?

My 7 year old daughter has had a persistent cough with no other symptoms for 16 days now.Checked for pertussis,came back negative.Never has had problem before.No runny nose,sore throat,etc..No asthma symptoms as far as wheezing,shortness of breath,etc...On an inhalent,Not working,cough syrups,not working,allergy meds,not working????

Based on the given history this doesn't seem like an infection or atopy. I'm assuming here that the blood test came negative for elevated WBC or eosinophils.

If its not infection and if it does not even stop with cough suppressants then I would suggest two steps.
1) sometimes the same cough suppressant doesn't work on all. You can consult a physician for a prescription of a stronger or more potent cough suppressant like those with coedine.

2) if it doesn't respond even to them then you must consider evaluation with a neurologist to check if there is any injury or irritation of the laryngeal nerve that might precipitate the cough.
