What Causes Persistent Cough Despite Taking Variety Of Medications?

I have been having this cough for almost a month now. It went a way for a couple of days, this past Sunday is when my cough came back again. I have been taking Thera-Flu and Cheratussin Medicine and other countless medicines to try to stop my coughing attack. Has this happened to anybody else?
