What Causes Persistent Cough Along With Post Nasal Drip And Watering In Eyes?
I have been coughing for a long time, several months now, and my doctor say its my allergys. I have allergys year round, I take zyertex for allergys, she just gave me Sinclair to add to my meds to see if it help with the post nasal drip. I cough so much I sound like I have whopping cough. My eyes water all the time sometimes I cough till I throw up. I was recently diagnose with diabetes and I also have high cholesterol. I don t understand why im coughing so much with so much drainage.
Diabetics are often associated to other illness including allergy problems due to their low immunity. To me, we should exclude medication allergies first. So, better run some allergy testing for a more specific treatment. As the drainage is increasing, better get a physical examination to rule out pneumonia and if you might need prescription medicine. Montelucast can help along with Zyrtec, plus immune system booster supplements. Keeping blood sugar levels within normal range can be of great help. Discuss this with your caring doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
