What Causes Persistent Burning Sensation In Face?

Over a period of 2-3 week a heat / burning sensation is accruing to my right side of my face. Starting by the ear and spreading up and down. It feels like a electric signal "nerve". No heat or swelling to the touch. No fever or other symptoms.
I am a female ,54 years old . Weight approx. 175 lb. Healthy as fare as I know. Using no medicine.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain burning sensation on one side that is right side of face along with electric signal like feeling seems to be due to nerve disorder known as Trigeminal Neuralgia in which there can be burning pain that can come and go in episodes..It can occur either due to compression, inury or inflammation to the trigeminal nerve that is a nerve of face and supplies sensations to face..
I would suggest you to consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and he can advise yo investigations like MRI , X-RAY and blood investigations to rule out the exact cause of problem and treat you accordingly..
In case if it is due to Trigeminal neuralgia he can advise you medications suitable for nerve induced pain like Anticonvulsants like Carbamazipine, Gabapantin while other medications like Baclofen..
You can also be advised certain other procedures like Glycerol injection,Balloon compression and surgical procedures like Microvascular decompression and gama knife surgery..
