What Causes Persistent Bleeding Post Abortion?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...i am 22 years old. I had an abortion last month on 17th and i bleeded till dis month second. Can you please tell me that thru the blood tests such as Hb.Tlc.Dlc, Esr,Scant,Tsh.rbs now can it be detected dat i had an abortion.

Understand your concern
Normally bleeding stops 7 days after abortion. blood tests such as Hb.Tlc.Dlc, Esr,Scant,Tsh.rbs does not tell about abortion process.

Following are the causes of persistent bleeding:
Incomplete abortion/retain product: It is diagnosed by USG and treated by surgical process like D & C. It may be associated with infections that is treated by antibiotics.
Molar pregnancy also cause vaginal bleeding. As chance is high after abortion as placental tisssue invasion occua and convert in to choriocarcinoma. That is diagnosed by USG or blood HCG level. Treatment is surgery plus methotrexate.

So consult the gynecologist and get the above investigation to fine causes and take proper treatment.
