What Causes Persistent And Sharp Pain In Right Breast?

Much easier than that questionnaire... For the last two days I have been experiencing sharp stabbing pain in the central third of my right breast. Sometimes the pain is more toward the right side of that area, other times very centered, other time more left . NSAIDS aren t working.. I plan to call my doc, but I guess I what I want to know is if I request a mammogram I m on the right track, not just reacting.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Breast pain could be caused by medical conditions like mastitis, abscess, tumor, mastodynia
Only examination by a Doctor will tell what is causing it and which test may be most appropriate to identify cause. If your Doctor should feel that a breast mass might be the cause of your pain, a mammography will then be indicated.
Just meet your Doctor for evaluation and do not tell him how he should manage you.
Hope this will help
Best regards
