What Causes Pelvic Pain In A 40 Year Old Woman?

for I d say more than a month I ve had nearly constant light menstral type cramps and tingling nipples. I ve had my period and have taken a home pregnancy test and that came out negative. The last two periods have been lighter than usual. This does follow having an abortion in very late May. I am 40 years old. I m not really in pain but its becoming annoying and worrisome. About three weeks ago I had very sharp pains on my left pelvic side which I believed was an ovarian cyst. I have not yet been to my doctor but am planning on going.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You see whether you have symptoms of hormonal Imbalance,
causing ovulation problem the PCOD
The pain on one side of pelvis, light bleeds, breast soreness all are seen in such case. A USG pelvis would confirm a diagnosis to be followed by specific management.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
